All of my fastest improving guitar students have one thing in common...

And it helps them to improve way faster than a lot of other people I meet.

None of them are naturally talented...

Almost all of them are busy with families and work. Some of them work long hours in the NHS...

And most of them started out as complete beginners...

But when they followed this little piece of advice I’m going to share with you today…

They all started improving faster on their instruments. Without having to put in a lot of time practicing.

All Of My Fastest Improving Students Do This...

There’s this big myth among the guitar community that you have to put in lots of practice time to get good.

I’ve even seen 10 hour practice routines floating about online too.

The thing about this idea is that it’s just not true.

None of my best students practice more than 20 to 30 minutes a day. In fact, some of them only practice 5 to 10 minutes a day.

If you want to get good at the guitar faster, there’s only two things you should be thinking about…

  1. Quality

  2. Consistency

Quality is all about how you’re practicing. Are you wasting time practicing the wrong things? How often are you pushing yourself out of your comfort zone? And a whole bunch of other reasons that I don't have time to talk about today.

Consistency is trying to do a little bit each day, no matter what. Whether that’s 2 minutes… 20 minutes… or 2 hours…

It’s all about doing something each day.

All Of My Fastest Improving Students Do This...

People often underestimate how important this piece is.

By doing a little bit each day, your efforts build up one day after the other.

Sure, it doesn’t seem like much in the moment…

But after a few weeks and months or this consistent effort, you start to see the difference.

This is what all of my best students do. They do a little bit each day, no matter what.

I’m so proud of all of my students, even the ones who take things slower.

If you want to get a little more momentum with your playing…

And you’re not already doing a little bit each day…

That’s where I’d start.
