Do you know who Michael Jordan is? … you know, the ultra-successful basketball player?
You might be wondering what Michael Jordan’s secret to becoming great at guitar is?
Well, there’s a famous quote that sums it up nicely.
He said this:
“I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.
I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

This is such an inspiring quote. But what does it mean for YOU?
It’s easy to look at someone who’s great at something and see their achievements. (Whether that’s a world-famous basketball player… or your favourite musician.)
But the part we don’t always see is their journey to becoming great.
We don’t see all the failures…
The times they wanted to quit…
All the sleepless nights…
The pain… the struggle… the heartbreak…
We don’t see any of this.
Now I’m not saying guitar is this horrible mountain that you have to climb… It’s not.
It can be made very simple. (Providing you have a good teacher who can make it simpler and fun.)

But know that to get good at the guitar, you’re going to have times when your patience is tested.
You’ll have times when things will be tricky… and it might take a couple of months before you get something…
Know that if you can push through these testing times…
On the other side is greatness. (Whatever that means for you.)
I don’t know who needed to hear this today…
But if you’re struggling with something right now… I hope this article gives you some encouragement.
